June 15, 2020: Online, Characters with Linda Ditchkus. Linda lead the group through beginning level of characters through to a broad view and use of attributes for clarity.  

April 27, 2020: Online with Stephanie Frykholm. Stephanie used poetry to inspire writing and sharing as the group looked for additional meaning and perspectives.

March 14, 2020: "The Writin o' the Green." Facilitated by Robin Hall was modified to on-line using Any Meeting due to community health concerns. Robin lead the group through St. Patrick's Day prompts and the use of Gaelic terms.

 

  January 13, 2020: Jean Gabardi, "Roaring The '20s" Writing prompts for this first WE Write of the new decade around the 5 main types of writing: Narrative, Expository, Descriptive, Persuasive, and Creative. 

 

  December 3, 2019: 5th Annual Cocoa-Loco WE Write session was hosted by President Jennifer Sweete and Membership Chair, Maria Weber. "Winter Wonderland."

 

  November 9, 2019: "The Word Button - Push It!" Judy Butler led us on a writing adventure. Using a variety of writing prompts, writer Judy Butler led us in creative writing fun. 

  September 16, 2019: "Fun with Flash Fiction: Flashing into Fall" Laurel McHargue facilitated a special WE Write. Laurel is a Writer Extraordinaire, blogger, Pod-caster, professional flasher, award-winning author of Miss and the Waterwight series. Under Laurel's tutelage, we wrote a level of "master at flash fiction in...wait for it...flash!"

 

  August 17th, 2019: "Writing a Mystery," Robin Hall facilitated a special WE Write at the National Mining Museum in Leadville, CO. Robin is a Writer Extraordinaire, CCWE Treasurer, history buff, and the writer in Colorado, western history, and genealogy. The group designed several short stories for the Museum, Mysteries From the Museum, available in their Gift Shop.

  July 22, 2019:  "The Rest of the Story."Jennifer Sweete, CCWE President, Award-winning Blogger, Editor, and Indie Author facilitated with a morning of short stories and prompts that spun off the intros to real life stories and to its conclusion – including the Where, When, Who, What, and How.

  May 13, 2019: "Spring Forward" Jan Ohmstede traded technical writing for creative writer upon retirement. She is the CCWE Secretary and a member of Shavano and Columbine Poets. She launched writing into spring with fresh ideas, perspectives, and inspiration for renewed energy. 

  March 9, 2019: "BYOB - Bring You Own Book." Don Owens, Writer, Blogger, Construction Project Manager & Estimator, and CCWE Member:  We played a writing game using books, a variety of writing prompts to use these books, and mini-chapters.

  February 2, 2019, Cancelled due to weather NOT cooperating! Many thanks to Stephanie for her hard work to prep for this event! Stephanie Frykholm has been writing with the Writers Exchange community for two decades.

   January 14, 2019: "Writing By Design!" Maria Weber, past president of CCWE, creative writer, and author. We used geometrical shapes to affect us psychologically and influence our creative writing and writing within the shapes of Triangles, Squares, Circles and Spirals.

December 4, 2018, Annual Cocoa-Loco Holiday Writing: "T'is the Season Yule Be Writing." Hosted by the President, Jennifer Sweete and Membership Chair, Maria Weber. 

September 17, 2018, Jennifer Sweete, CCWE President, Indie Author, editor, and Award-winning Blogger. "A Funny Thing Happened on My Way to the WE Write!" exploring humor in any genre of writing.

August 13, 2018, Laurel McHargue, Writer Extraordinaire, blogger, podcaster, and published author. "Keep the Change" to see every day presents an opportunity for change: Imposed or desired.

July 28, 2018, Robin Hall, CCWE Treasurer, history buff, and western history, and genealogy. Robin guided us into "Emotion in Writing" for the bond between character-reader.

May 19, 2018, Jennifer Sweete, Indie author, editor, award-winning blogger, and CCWE President and also CMT, Reiki Master. "Time Traveling Visionaries" to traverse time and space using some of Knatia Parson's Time Traveling writing prompts.

April 16, 2018, Don Owens, Writer, Blogger, Twitter, LEED AP,  Reiki Master, semi-retired construction Project Manager. "Fiction - Short Story Smorgasbord" to write beyond what was started.

March 12, 2018, Marge Dorfmeister, author, humorist, CMC teacher, musician, playwright, poet, watercolorist, and founding member of The Writers Exchange. "Test Your Powers of Observation."

January 8, 2018, Jean Gabardi, retired telecom, corporate consultant, training specialist, and PM advisor: "Welcome 2018!" with a deep breath and fun writing prompts for 2018. 

 August 14, 2017, Laurel McHargue, author of many wonderful books and an awesome e-newsletter, led us in a smorgasbord of writing. We will cherish our spatulas forever thanks to Laurel and attendee Jean Gabardi!

July 15, 2017, Jan Ohmstede, a former ECE Special Ed. teacher, speech pathologist, technical and grant writer and since 2013, creative writer, led us in the topic "Go with the Flow."

June 12, 2017, Cary Unkelbach, a life-long dog lover, lawyer, blogger, and past CCWE President, led us in the topic of "The Meaning of Summer." 

April 17, 2017, Jennifer Sweete, Indie Author, Award-Winning Blogger, and CCWE President, led us in the topic of "Memory Lane" -

March 20, 2017, Judy Hiatt, former travel writer and author of Cabbage: Cures to Cuisine, AND CCWE Vice President (pro temore) led us in the topic of "Recipes for Writing." 

February 11, 2017, Barbara Ford, prolific writer and poet who hosts a weekly poetry show on KHEN 106.9 FM, Poets and Minstrels Barbara led us in the topic of "The Love of Writing about Love."

January 14th, 2017, Stephanie Frykholm, Life-long writer in love with words and the creative writing process led us in the topic: "New Year's Muse: What's Incubating in Your Writer's Mind?"
